DVI KVM Fiber Extender, FXDAS-2022, consists of a Console and a Computer unit that allows you to extend DVI, Two-Way Audio, USB ,and Serial signals up to 2KM (6,560 ft) over SC M-M Fiber Optic Cabling.

Comprehensive EDID Management

EDID Copy function allows the DVI KVM Fiber Extender either to read the necessary EDID information from the extender unit itself or to copy EDID from the EDID compliant monitor, while EDID emulation function provides factory default 13 pre-setting EDIDs for H/V sync utilization and that prevent the video resolution settings from exceeding the capability of the connected display. FXDAS-2022 ensures every video source is displayed at the optimal resolution and format without any compatibility issue.

Dual-User Access

Dual Console function allows two users to share computer both in local and remote areas. The local console FXDAS-021P enables users to access computer directly, while the remote console FXDAS-012S allows users to remotely control the computer as if you were sitting right in front of it. Hotkey functions and push buttons enable the user at Console/ PC Unit to exclusively access the computer.

Cascade Configuration: The dedicated Mask Hotkey function

DVI KVM Fiber Extender, FXDAS-2022 Mask Hotkey Switch located at the rear panel of both Console Unit and Computer Unit can be slid OFF/ON to switch hotkey control between the Computer (Default setting) and the KVM Switch (Cascading) accordingly.

The hotkey commands of KVM Switches vary among models, which may cause hotkey errors, unwanted configurations between the Extender Unit and the mixed types of KVM Switches that connect to each other. To prevent from any conflict via hotkey commands in the cascade configuration, Hotkey Mask feature eliminates or simplifies all the hotkey control barriers caused by mixed combinations of KVM Extender and KVM Switch in cascading architecture; through the mask ON, users can bypass the Extender Unit and directly apply the KVM Switch’s built-in hotkey commands to access and configure the KVM Switch. You can easily expand multiple computer control by adding the Extender Unit with the KVM Switch.

DVI KVM Fiber Extender-cascade

Unique bidirectional audio (Speaker and Mic) extension function independently transmits 2-way audio signal from the Transmitter (PC) unit to the Receiver (Console) unit, and vice versa. In the case of emergency situation, bidirectional audio transmission is beneficial for notifying users of the computer or server room operation issues making possible the remote communication and coordination.

Full-duplex data communication between Tx and Rx via fibre optic cable connection is the cost effective, hardware-based solution, providing remote access and control for all RS-232 protocol devices without any setup or configuration.
